I joined the RAF at 19 to undertake nurse training, qualifying as a Registered Nurse, which led to specialist training and postings abroad.

In 1983 I joined the N.H.S. to train as an Ophthalmic Nurse at Moorfields Eye Hospital and I have since progressed to being a Clinical Nurse Specialist, currently responsible for the Emergency and Outpatients Departments of The Oxford Eye Hospital.

During my nursing career I have developed a role in supporting patients receiving bad news or coming to terms with a life changing diagnosis, or altered body image. Since 2000 I have run my own clinic and in 2004 I completed a Diploma in Principles and Practice of Counselling and am now working towards accreditation with The British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. In January 2006 I joined a partnership of counsellors working for a large GP practice in North Oxfordshire.

I have a keen interest in humanist psychology, as it allows individuals to live a more resourceful life, as well as determining and achieving personal goals. I see coaching as a natural progression from counselling, something that may be particularly beneficial to some people in a variety of circumstances. My goal is to help as many people as possible to motivate themselves to live life to the fullest, achieving their goals by tapping into their hidden potential.
